Bio

It all started when...

Keia Bounds’ passion for design began at the age of eight. She and her mother would make Keia dresses and Keia would create matching dresses for her dolls. As an adult Keia entered the fashion industry working in retail and then as a paid design intern for Urban Outfitters, Gary Williams and Cynthia Rowley. She was then invited to start her design career working with major fashion brands such as Tracy Feith, Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren.

After working with these iconic designers, Keia decided to launch a very small clothing collection and started working as a fashion stylist for advertising and editorial magazines.

While working as a freelance fashion stylist and designer, Keia was offered a full time position working as a Key Costumer and Stylist on Chappelle’s Show. Soon after Chappelle's Show, she became the off camera fashion stylist for TLC’s What Not to Wear. This moved Keia’s career in a different direction and she became a Celebrity Stylist People Magazine, Premiere and Entertainment Weekly.

Keia's career continued to evolve in episodic television. While working on the show Law & Order CI she soon became the Assistant Costume Designer for the award winning television series Nurse Jackie on Showtime. And she was then given an opportunity to step up as the Costume Designer during Season 7. Keia’s Costume Design work can be seen on NBC's The Mysteries of Laura, PopTV’s Nightcap, Hulu’s Woke Pilot , Sony/Crackle’s The Oath (S1 & S2), the action comedy Film Chick Fight, Connecting on NBC and most recently BMF S1 on Starz. While working as a Costume Designer, Keia does private label sustainable fashion design projects and runs an online luxury sustainable store called TOUTE.
